Red Gold is the award-winning story about the debate in Alaska communities about risks to the famous Bristol Bay
salmon run from one of the
largest open pit cyanide leach gold mines ever proposed. The 55-minute documentary took home top honors at BANFF and Mountainfilm Festivals in 2008, winning Audience Choice Best Film. An update on the
Atlanta Gold mine proposed in the headwaters of the Boise River will follow.
Red Gold is presented by
Idaho Families for Clean Water, a coalition of conservation groups and individuals working to protect the Boise River from mining activities in the Boise River watershed.
